Art Night Venezia

As part of Art Night Venezia 2025 Salone Verde will host a special evening event featuring architects Martin Ostermann and Lena Kleinheinz, founders of the Berlin-based architecture studio Magma Architecture. The event, titled “Growth and Decay”, will delve into the themes of transformation, temporality, and sustainability in architecture, in connection with the exhibition “keep cool!”.

Ostermann and Kleinheinz will reflect on the pressing paradox of contemporary architecture: although buildings are designed to last for generations, in reality, most are demolished within decades. In their talk, they will question traditional ideas of permanence and challenge the assumption that sustainability is synonymous with durability. Drawing on architectural history, circular construction, and ecological thinking, they propose a shift: from static longevity to dynamic processes of renewal.
